We Are A Church,
Where People Become Family

FBCWest is a place where church means family. As a family that follows the Lord, we are commanded to love one another as we love ourselves. We hope that this site and our church can be an effective place for your family, and life, so that we can show the affect God has had on us to the world.

Weekly Bible Passage

Luke 15:21 - 32

21"And the son said to him, `Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'
22"But the father said to his slaves, `Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet;
23and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate;
24for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.' And they began to celebrate.

About FBCWest

Here at FBCWest we believe that Jesus, the Son of God, has saved by His sacrifice and our salvation is God’s gift not because of our value, but because of His grace. This faith that we have should cause us not to seek safety, but we should be “reckless” in our faith. To take risks as a result of faith. Risks in witnessing to others; regardless of whether or not they think we are simple minded; risks in loving others, though they may not love us in return; and risk the giving of our lives for Him and His purposes. Because as Paul stated in 2 Timothy “for I know whom I have believed and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.”

Authority and Greater Sin

From the time that Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, the people who arrested him bound him and led him to Annas' house. They were seeking to assert control and authority over Jesus. It's interesting, trying to assert control and authority over the Son of God. When Jesus fails to immediately answer one of Pilate's questions, Pilate says, "Don't you understand that I have authority over you?" Jesus tells him the authority that he has doesn't come from the Roman government.

Peter Denial

Today's message, we're going to take a look at Peter and his denial of his Lord. It would be easy, and it is easy, to quickly judge Peter for those failures. But sometimes, even though Peter had told Jesus that he'd be willing to die for him, we'll take a look at maybe sometimes it is easier to die for Christ than to live for him. But also, what we're going to take a look at is that while Peter denied Jesus, all of us have done something that we regret or are ashamed of. But the fortunate thi...

Jesus Betrayed

There are times in our lives when we may face circumstances when we truly wonder whether God is in control and can solve our problems. Jesus is going to show a situation where his betrayal and his seizure is such that he is not a victim, but he is in control. And not only to make sure that God's purposes are accomplished, but he protects his own. Come and see how God is in control of even circumstances that seem to be out of control.
